1. On January 26, I noted the following:
I can't shake the smell of playdo. I really smell like playdo. I have no idea how this has happened.

2. It's not anything anyone has done. It's just the way things are.

3. I used to never be able to peel a banana without first cutting the tip off with a knife. Today, for an unexplained reason, I peeled a banana without outside help.

4. The more I'm honest with myself, the more I realize something about my relationship with my parents. They are getting older and they will die. This weird, twisted part inside of me has tried to keep them at a distance lately. I've been thinking that if I survive them that the hurt will not be as intense if I'm not as close. But regret might be the deepest of all pain.

And I suppose that this all stems from the desire, ultimately, to avoid pain.

5. Whenever I ride with someone who has a clean car, I feel more welcomed.

6. The company that I work for won 5 Addy Awards for advertising. The consequence of this was the need for more shelving. A couple weeks ago I watched as one man in our office single-handedly measured and installed the shelves. This was done while 3 other men from the agency gathered around him and watched and occasionally commented on the tools.

7. On February 11th I wrote in my book:
At dusk I walked around my apartment complex. I breathed as deeply as my lungs would allow. The air was sweet with flower blossoms and fresh cuts of grass. It makes me want to sleep outside. I think I'm going to do that sometime on my porch.

8. You know when you walk around in the cold weather outside, then you go inside and roll your eyeballs around with your eyelids closed? I like how cold my eyelids are, but then how the heat from inside warms them. It's like when you're sleeping during the summertime and your body warms the sheets. I like when my foot explores other areas of the bed that are still cool.

care bears stare

I was recently reminded of the love I had for the Care Bears as a child. If someone was mean to me, I would put my hands on my hips and say, "Care Bears STARE!"
